As facilitators and ideas enablers, UnPS has introduced the world of tunnelling to many new concepts and methods. Many of these innovations have been developed by working closely with peers who are the best in their field. These include universities such as Oxford University and the University of Warwick; manufacturers of Tunnel Boring Machines and waterproofing equipment; and fellow civil engineering companies in joint venture.
A defining moment in our history was when we connected Herrenknecht, Putzmeister, Morgan Vinci JV and Oxford University to develop the MultiMode™ Tunnel Boring Machine as a safe solution for the construction of the Heathrow T5 Tunnels.
